Legal Week recently shared its latest research on the potential impacts of Brexit - this time in relation to law firm layoffs. With 82% of respondents expecting layoffs in the next two years, it is only fair to assume that firms will be looking for flexible resourcing models which do not over-commit in these uncertain times. Does this mean that the trend towards lower cost centres, outsourcing and flexible resource solutions to help manage costs - for both legal and back-office roles - can therefore only continue to gain traction in this climate?
The vast majority of partners expect law firms to make redundancies in the UK in the wake of the vote to leave the European Union (EU), while more than half say their firms will cut back on recruitment, according to new Legal Week research. As news of redundancies and pay freezes begins to emerge in the wake of this June’s referendum, the results of the latest Big Question survey highlight the widespread concerns over the impact of the vote, with many partners of the belief that layoffs are inevitable.
